![]() ![]() ![]() The example of Vigo's punishment by Mother Prava shows this well, as his punishment of the iron maiden suit seems quite extreme for his simply letting two women pass by his post into the mines. Inarius has created a church that worships him in terrifying and immoral means, such that they too become mindless followers, only for a fallen angel rather than a demon. Meanwhile, the followers of the church do not appear to be much better. Lilith's followers are often led by their own selfishness, drawn to act based on visions of the power and glory they could earn by assisting her in her crusade. They mean little to nothing to her even Neyrelle's mother was lost to Lilith's selfish desires. Her plan seems to present the moral dilemma of whether it is necessary to sacrifice some lives in exchange for protecting the greater whole of humanity. ![]() If Lilith really has knowledge that the Prime Evils are coming to destroy Sanctuary, and she feels that her ability to prepare the world is the only viable option, she could have meant well in her own twisted demonic fashion. Blizzard's simple dungeon-crawler offers some true moral ambiguity for players to consider, even though there is no option of directing a character's choice to change the outcome of the story. She does present some valid points, however, even if her means of trying to help was self-serving and would have also led to an incredible loss of lives. Over the course of the game, and particularly at the end of Diablo 4, Lilith is certainly not a hero. ![]()
